Osher Lifelong Learning Institute presents A Hard Founding Father To Love: Ira Allen of Vermont with Kevin Graffagnino, Executive Director, Vermont Historical Society. Land speculator, revolutionary, pamphleteer, and government leader, Ira Allen (1751-1814) was a significant figure in eighteenth-century Vermont. Kevin Graffagnino outlines Iras checkered career and assesses his participation in defending an independent Vermont, supporting the Haldimand Negotiations, and developing the Champlain Valley, along with his plans to create democratic republics in British Canada and the area that became Texas. Semester Memberships $40 for all 9 programs and entrance to the other 7 Vermont Osher Institute Programs; single program fee: $8.00.
