DETAILS: How the Precision Valley Machine Tool Industry Functioned

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute presents How the Precision Valley Machine Tool Industry Functioned with Jere Daniell, History professor Emeritus, Dartmouth College. During his presentation, Professor Daniell will present a more in-depth look at the history of the precision tool industry in the Precision Valley area of Springfield and Windsor, Vermont, and Claremont, New Hampshire, focusing on the non-technical dimensions. He will discuss the patterns - economic, social and governmental - that drove the industry, such as the corporate structure, the markets, leadership changes and labor relations. There will br an opportunity for audience members to share comments about their experiences in the machine tool industry. Semester Memberships $40 for all 9 programs and entrance to the other 7 Vermont Osher Institute Programs; single program fee: $8.00.
