UPPER VALLEY MUSIC CENTER KICKS OFF STRINGS IN SCHOOLS
Full Description:
The Upper Valley Music Center (UVMC) is offering string group lessons for new and returning players of the violin, viola and cello. Students in Grade 1 through adult may participate. The year is divided into two 15-week semesters. The Fall 2007 Semester begins Friday , September 14th in room #202, at the Riverside Middle School, Springfield, Vermont.
Classes are separated by experience. Each group lesson is 45 minutes long and includes lesson materials. One of the added benefits of the program is the 'String Fling' where string students from all participating towns get together to play in a string orchestra on a Saturday that is convenient for everyone. It is an incredible experience for students and audience.
The instructor, Alissa Vassileva, comes from the Massachusetts area where she earned her BM and MM in Violin Performance with Emphasis in String Pedagogy. She is also a Suzuki teacher at the Upper Valley Music Center. She has a great experience in teaching violin, viola, and cello in group and private settings.
